Before becoming the Duchess of Sussex and marrying Prince Harry, Meghan Markle had a personal life filled with relationships, romance, heartbreak and new beginnings.

Long before international fame and royal responsibilities, Meghan was an ambitious actress trying to establish herself in Hollywood. Her romantic history has continued to attract public curiosity, especially since she became one of the most talked-about women in the British royal family.

### 1\. Trevor Engelson: Her First Husband

One of the most significant relationships in Meghan’s past was with American film producer Trevor Engelson.

The two reportedly began dating in 2004. Their relationship developed over several years, and they eventually became engaged in 2010.

On September 10, 2011, Meghan and Trevor married in a ceremony in Jamaica. At the time, Meghan was pursuing her acting career, while Trevor was building his reputation in the entertainment industry.

Unfortunately, their marriage did not last forever. The couple separated in 2013, and their divorce was finalized in 2014.

Although neither publicly shared extensive details about their separation, their marriage became a popular topic of discussion when Meghan later became engaged to Prince Harry.

### 2\. Cory Vitiello: The Relationship Before Harry

After her marriage ended, Meghan was reportedly involved with Canadian celebrity chef and restaurateur Cory Vitiello.

Their relationship reportedly lasted around two years, and they were linked before Meghan met Prince Harry.

Although their romance attracted attention after Meghan entered the royal spotlight, the couple generally kept their private lives away from public controversy.

Their relationship reportedly ended around 2016, the same year Meghan began dating Harry.

### 3\. Prince Harry: The Love That Changed Her Life

In July 2016, Meghan met Prince Harry through a mutual friend.

Their connection quickly developed into a serious relationship, although they initially kept their romance private.

In November 2017, the couple announced their engagement, creating worldwide excitement.

On May 19, 2018, Meghan and Harry exchanged marriage vows at St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle.

Their wedding attracted millions of viewers and marked the beginning of a completely different chapter in Meghan’s life.

### 4\. A New Life Beyond Hollywood

Following their marriage, Meghan became a member of the British royal family. However, in 2020, she and Harry announced their decision to step back from their senior royal roles.
